Hey everyone. Lane here from Calgary Alberta. Great site, ton of great info on here. I'd love to see it grow as time goes on.
A bit about my current project. Im about a week or so from firing my HX 50 equipped Toyota 7mgte, really stoked to get this thing working as I've been slowly putting it together for about 5 years!
... Also should mention this 7m is in a fully prepped BMW E30. Hopefully I'll be able to add some viable info in the near future, for now just wish me luch that it starts at all, lol.

Sweet project man. That car should move pretty nicely.

Hate to be "that guy", but do you have any pictures of the car you could share?

Ya sure, I haven't taken any recent pics but heres a few to give an idea.
from the start,a stripped out 85 318i that formerly had a stroker turbo m10 4 banger. It was my dd for several years.

7mge used for mockup

Custom front coilovers using GC coils, camber plates,Koni race inserts. The rest uses E36 spindles with 5 lug swap and m3 brakes,e36 rack as well as tubular DTM type control arms.  The rear is z3 trailing arms and brakes, poly bushings, koni shocks.

I stitch weled as much as I could, added a full cage, fabbed up new rear shock towers and moved the mounting inboard for tire clearance.

Here's the engine somewhat in the car minus wiring. I'm using a custom harness with MS2 v3 and extra code. I also had to build an intake to clear the brake booster.

So there ya have it in a nutshell. Still a few things to do before it drives but right now im concetrating on getting it started.

Very nice. I have a MS1 board 3 in my MGB. MS can make a car run pretty nicely. Made a post in the HX25 section on my car.

Thanks man. Those are some impressive gains from your MG.
Yeah megasquirt seems to be the way to go these days, there's a ton of guys using it now so it kinda takes the mystery out of setting a car up. I've got a grasp of things and some good maps that hopefully make it run decent. Also looking at trying this new tuning program "tunerstudio". It's supposed to make tuning a lot easier. Heard of it anyone?

I have tuner studio on my Ubuntu tuning laptop. Its great!

Used megatune for several years so it took some getting used to.

I would recommend TunerStudio over megatune though- not to mention the guy who developed the software is VERY helpful if you have trouble.

Awesome picts.

I love the Toyota over engineered motors. I hope you plan on using 20w50 with that 7m motor.

What is this tunerstudio?

Thanks and yeah toyota builds great engines, especially their inline 6's. All my friends are toyota fans and I've been wanting a Supra since I was a teenager.
As for oil, for now I put 15w 40 gas engine oil in to break it in, probably switch to syn after a few hours of run time.
About Tunerstudio, it's a relatively new tuning program for Megasquirt to replace megatune. Everything I've heard about it is good and it supposed to be a lot easier to use.
