Hi I have 3.8L Ford V6 engine I drag race. I currently am using a 72mm Garrett T series with a P-trim wheel 84 a/r divided turbine. I am beginning to run out of turbocharger and want to upgrade to something with modern design. I need enough air flow for 800 hp at a PR of 3 (30 psi). Is there a shelf stock Holset I could use and if so which one? Thanks for your time.

To tell you the truth you probably be looking at the HX55 at 21Kg of air, referencing http://turbobyholset.com/forum/hx50-55/holset-hx50-55-turbocharger-general-information/ .

But I'll look for some more info. tonight  Grin

I was thinking that the 71mm billet or the 72mm compressor wheel offered in the hx50 would be enough for my goal, that would be the hx52? Is there a compressor map for these two wheels? Also what turbine wheel and housing should I be looking to match to the compressor? I see there are three wheels a 72,77, and an 80mm...I'm guessing I would use one of the first two and the housings I THINK I would consider are the 19 or 22. I have had a hard time finding anyone who advertises they sell custom Holset stuff all I can really find are stock replacements for a specific application any info on a vendor would be great. Thanks!

The guy I posted earlier in this thread can help or check one the Diesel performance shop.

I know a guy up in British Columbia, Passenger Performance can do some custom work.

I only know how to get a hold of him in another website, do not know his phone # or direct e-mail. Undecided

But there shop around who can do some custom work. Grin

As for the wheel size there is a guy on RHMT who is using a custom built HX52 on a built b18 (1.8L) that has seen 700+ whp.

Here is some suppliers:

http://www.gillettdiesel.com/DodgeCummins.aspx
http://www.caboturbo.com/

That is all I have for examples for the moment.

Is this a forum hosted by Holset? I was hoping I could look at turbine and compressor maps and then find a turbo that is used on stock application. My budget really will not support a custom turbocharger.

Can someone tell me what specific application the Holset HX52 was used on? I know it was Volvo engine but all I can see using holset and volvo websites is it was on a Bus application no model number or engine type was specified. Thanks.
