This is the very first attempt at starting my 1990 audi 90 20v since it was all stock. The engine is a 2.3 liter 7a block crank and head I rebuilt it with new bearings, bolts and rings using NG pistons and ARP head studs. I made the tube header out of schedule 10 stainless, added a holset hy35 turbo from a dodge cummins diesel, the engine is run by 034 efi full stand alone coil on plug management. I built the harness from only the supplied flying lead harness supplied with the ecu. The car still has a long way to go but at least it runs again!

it is a 5 cylinder with 4 valves per cyl. But many vw/audi motors have 3 intake valves and 2 exhaust. They just use an intake cam with 3 lobes per cylinder. Just look up a picture of a vw or audi 1.8t head.

how does the inlet cam operate 3 valves?
2 of them yes, but how does the 3rd valve get opened as it is not aligned with other valves?
do 2 have buckets and shims and one have a rocker type thing?
